Little by little you reveal
expanses of skin
that won’t let me sleep.
First it was your clavicles,
how I dreamt of crawling inside your bones
and playing like a child
hanging from the jungle gym
to see if it would tickle.
Then I saw your chest
my eyes grew heavy
from how cozy it looked;
all I wanted was to lay my head upon it
and listen to the beating inside
telling me you are very much alive.
When I saw your back I wanted
to sink my fingers into
the dimples
your muscles show
when they move
how deep they would go?
Your skin
is the most beautiful place
I have never seen
(and your hair, and your lips, and the mole of the very tip of your nose.)
